Coronavirus Vaccination

You can book your appointment today to get a coronavirus vaccination. When you get vaccinated, your risk of infection and diseases is also reduced – making you less prone to transmitting the virus or bacteria to others. As more people get the vaccination, fewer people will remain vulnerable, and there is less chance for a diseased person to pass on the pathogen to another person. In this way, lowering the possibility of a pathogen circulating in the community protects people who cannot be immunized (due to health conditions, like allergies or their age) from the disease directed by the vaccine

Laceration & Wound Care

Everyone gets small cuts, skinned knees, animal scratches, or puncture wounds once in a while. It can be quite tricky to determine whether a scrape or a cut needs medical attention. Mild lacerations can heal without the need of medical intervention. However, there are some injuries that need emergency medical treatment to ensure proper healing.
Proper care for the wounds that we commonly refer to as cuts is dependent upon many factors regarding the cut itself. First, where is the cut located? If the cut is in a bendable area, such as the elbow or knee, it will be harder to heal naturally and may require stitches. Another factor to consider is the depth of the cut. If it is merely a minor scrape, it is likely to heal fine after cleaning and applying a bandage.
Deeper lacerations, however, may not close well and may need stitches to help the wound close and reduce bleeding. Typically, a manageable wound stops bleeding within a matter of minutes. If a wound still bleeds after 15 or 20 minutes, it likely needs stitches to close it properly, reducing further blood loss and the risk of infection.
Whether you are dealing with a cut or laceration, the decision on whether the wound needs stitches should best be left to the urgent care professional.

The vaccine is highly crucial for the elderly or pregnant women or those having a chronic illness. Anti-flu medications are helpful for early flu symptoms. However, for those who experience advanced and prolonged flu symptoms, anti-flu medicine gets no longer effective. That’s when flu shots help in preventing the symptoms altogether. Flu shots give your body time to become immune, as it takes about two weeks for antibodies to develop after the vaccine.

IV hydration includes a mixture of IV fluids and electrolytes made for instant hydration to help you feel revitalized and refreshed. Staying hydrated is an important process for your body to maintain and preserve normal functions, making you feel better throughout your day. These minerals play a crucial part in maintaining proper muscle function and the pH balance of your blood. That’s when IV hydration becomes useful. For moderate cuts, it is best to do the following as general first aid steps:

  • Clean the wound thoroughly with water and soap. Next, apply antibiotic cream or ointment. Finally, cover the wound with bandage.
  • With a clean cloth or bandage, apply even pressure. If bleeding persists for more than 10 minutes, seek medical attention.
